Panayiotis Kalorkoti is a British artist who paints mainly in acrylics, watercolours and does drawings. He has also worked with etchings, screen-prints and lithographs. He tends to work in series, and towards a specific showing. He works within specific terms of reference for groups of work and it is in the serial works that the viewer will sense a certain questioning and re-focusing. He has had exhibitions in Britain and abroad which include the Imperial War Museum, London, National Portrait Gallery, London, and National Garden Festival, Gateshead, and has had catalogues published which supported the exhibitions. He has worked on major public projects, such as the Grizedale Arts, Cumbria and has been ‘artist in residence’ for the Leeds Playhouse and has won fellowships, scholarships and commissions.
